...do they do it- produce a clean point source(kef.tannoy) one of the biggest advantage of headphones is a perfect point source which is natural so our brain is not left to work a lot in perceiving the sound. naturally sound comes from a point source. Do these co-axial drivers do the job well.please any one using these speakers ur input is well appreciated.

thanks in advance.

I don't have a lot of experience with coax drivers in a speaker, but when I was listening to a pair of KEF Q1 bookshelf speakers at an audio store, there was just something special about the soundstage it produced. Sounds more coherent (or "connected") than most speaker in its price range.

I've never heard any Tannoy speakers, but I was listening to a KEF bookshelf (don't know the number, it had a 6.5" driver or so) and it indeed made a wall of sound as the salesman was talking about, however, the soundstage was horrific. There was no depth at all, the Totem mini-speakers were above and beyond them as far as depth, but didn't give that "wall of sound". I think the KEFs are good party speakers but not for serious listening.
