cmoy reverb/static

when i first got my cmoy (its a third hand one made by profingerskater) it worked great, now, ofter some accidental jostling it has developed an odd sort of static reverb effect. any idea what could be causing this/how i can fix it?

Have you tried it with a fresh battery?

It is typical of a CMOY for it to sound distorted on a low battery.

the led is still bright like with a fresh battery, but i'll try a new one

Depending on what resistor you put in series with the LED, it could still be bright even when the battery is way too low to make a sound come out of the opamp.

If a new battery doesn't solve it, double check all the connections, it maybe that there was a wire that is bent and almost broken, but still connected badly and giving you weird sounds. You may have to cut & resolder the wire back.
