Hey, guys. I'm looking for an amp that will increase the SQ of my headphones. I haven't actually bought them yet--I'm torn between Shure SRH840s, Ultrasone HFI 450s, and Sennheiser HD 25-1s. I just want something that will give good, tight bass and improve SQ in general. I don't want to spend more than $50-60 on the amp. The FiiO E1 has caught my eye being an amp/LOD all-in-one. Is FiiO or a CMoy a better option? Also, are there any iBasso amps available in my price range?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

They're all good headphones although I prefer the Sennheiser HD25 Mark IIs for the deftness of its bass response. It never sounds muddy but isn't as deep as some boom prone headphones.

The Fiio5 is good actually - it pairs well with the HD-25 Mark IIs and has a bass boost if you're that way inclined. It's also exceptionally small and portable. CMoys get good reviews but at that level of $15 - $60, there isn't much to choose from. You won't have a signal:noise hiss problem with the Fiio5 either.

Can't say about the Cmoy - maybe an owner can chip in. I'm waiting for a new high end portable amp on a different league...

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably buy the E1 if I choose FiiO. If the HD 25s were circumaural, I think they'd be my perfect headphone. This is the only reason that I probably won't buy them.
