Hi,

I like the sound of the AKG K240.

Recently, I tried an Audio-Technica headphone with the Wing headpads and found the comfort of this excellent for me.

I would like to buy a new Audio-Technica headphone with these Wing headpads that sounds closest to the K240.

For what I gathered, there are the closed A550Z/A990Z and the open AD500X/AD700X/AD900X/R70x/AD1000X. I don't mind closed or open, the K240 are described as "semi-open".

I wouldn't like to spend much more than $ 200 for that.

Does anybody have both the K240 and some of the Audio Technicas to recommend me the right model? Which of these is most closest to the K240?

Thanks, I read a bit about it here and was able to try the AD700X, which sounded already in the right direction for me, the AD900X seems to be similar to it based on your previous posts.

One thing I noticed when testing the AD700X, I could hear the details that on other headphones would not appear, for a lack of a better example, at you can hear the snare at 0:05, 0:08, 0:11. On the AD700X, I can hear more higher frequencies on this snare than on a A550Z I tried in a store.

Would the AD900X keep the same ability as the AD700X?

And for the price, the A990Z is quite similar, how does the closed character of it compare to the AD900X?

I usually stick to open headphones, unless I need to block noise.
AD700X is good at detail, because it has no bass.
AD900X should have at least a little more bass, than the AD700X.
