they're obviously completely different animals, but they still have much in common: same price range ($180-200), isolation, portability... and they each would have their own drawbacks unique to canalphones and closed cans.
so, how do they compare purely based on sound? head-to-head, i'm curious whether one is a clearly superior?

a note: i do intend to buy one or the other, but this is more of a face-off challenge than a "what should i buy?" for what it's worth, i listen to equal parts jazz, electronic and rock, with a tiny dab of opera and almost no classical.
