Ultrasone PROline 750 can be had for about that much from Northern Sound and Light. I'll also add that I think it can match up to my HD-650 with the burn-in. I see potential there.

If you really like movies, they are the closest thing having a subwoofer in your head.

I wouldn't say that, as I think my HD-650 has more bass than the 750, but I think the PROline does have enough bass. At least for my taste.

HD-650 might have more mid-bass (sometimes too much to my liking) which is more important in music, but 750 goes so looowww like subwoofer, and I like my subwoofers in my speaker setup even for music.

Try something electronic or movies with sound effects. The Chemical Brothers "We Are the Night" has an opening "ramble" which falls down to 10Hz, you'll see what I mean. HD-650 does not make the floor shake unlinke 750's. Not really, but feeling was very real when I first tried it.

Add the HFI-2200 to the list. Great for movies and cheaper than the PL 750s.

I like the sound of the RP-21 and RP-22x the 21's are very neutral with good response in the right places the 22x has a more of a eq curve that supports good stereo sound. However for my head thoug the shape of the head band is uncomfortable. Maybe I just have a big head. I'm personally about to buy a pair of closed cans my self. I'm leaning towards either beyer 770pro's or 880's, denon D2k or Audio technica A900.

Yeah, I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the choices being recommended here.
