Hi, apologies I have posted this question in a few forums but I am trying to get as many opinions as possible for me to et information from. I can afford up to £250 and I mainly listen to metal of all types but also many other genres. I will be using them at work so I don't want noise leak but also need to be able some stuff around me.

You should check out the B&W P7. It could potentially work for you. It has a bit of a bass emphasis, which could provide a nice foundation for your metal. You might read about it.and see what you think.

I am seriously tempted by these. Would they be suitable for wearing when walking out and about?

Wait the 99 Classics or the P7?
The 99 Classics aren't the best for walking around outside because they don't isolate that well and the headband is pretty noisy. But when you are walking inside or sitting down they sound superb. For walking around I would suggest IEMs. They are better when out and about to me.
