Currently using Philips SHP-2500 ($25) closed headphones and Audio Technica ($80) AD-500 open headphones.
So I'm looking for "closed" $50 headphones a little bit better then my current philips.
Ideas?

I think that there should be some places that sell the HA-RX900 for less than $60. I'm not sure how "closed" they are, but compared to my DT-880 and MS-1, they certainly are more isolating.

And fantastic headphones for the money, to boot.

I've been reading up on the JVC HA-RX700s,
looks like my current top choice.
Not sure if the HA-RX900s are worth the extra money.

Sorry to bump an old thread but i was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions?

My other problem is that im based in the UK so models such as the jvc harx700 are almost impossible to find for sale

The JVC/Victor HA-RX900s are being sold on EBay from a company in Japan,
the seller is listed as "Japan World Store" and they ship to Europe.

At the $50 or less price point, I really like the Panasonic RP-HTX7 for a closed headphone.
