Closed & Open Dynamic, Advantages & Disadvantages in terms of Disturbing sleeping partner & Heat on Ear
I usually listen in the night.
I am currently using Sennheiser HDR45 which is a wireless RF.
I am thinking of getting a Sennheiser RS170 (closed dynamic) or RS180 (open Dynamic)
The following queries are important in deciding my choice. I am prepared to sacrifice sound quality so as not to disturb my partner which is 1st priority and secondarily the heat for 4-5 hours listening should not be be unbearable.
(1) need advice on RS170. Is it suitable for 4-5 hours listening. Is it hot on the ear ? My country temperature is between 23 to 28 degrees centrigrade.
(2) And is the RS180 which is open dynamic; is it cooler on the years for 4-5hours listening than RS170 ?
(3) Does the sound leakage ( I listen at decent level in the night to TV only NOT hifi ) disturb my partner sleeping just next to me on the bed.
Appreciate advice.
