I've been browsing the threads and haven't really found exactly what i am looking for.
What i need is a full-size closed headphone for around 200-300$ CAD. Comfort is a must.
I will be using these headphones mostly on my computer for gaming, movies, and of course music.
I mostly listen to rock, metal, and electronic (electro, psytrance, DnB, etc.), so good solid bass is ideal. I quite enjoy what most people might consider too much bass, but i dont like if it drowns out the highs or mids. In other words, i like to hear the entire spectrum clearly, but i like my head to shake during the process.
I currently own a pair of PortaPros and sennheiser cx300s; i really enjoy the warmth of the portapros but i find they are a little lacking in clarity. The cx300s are the opposite; they are a little sharp, but i think this is due to the fact that they are iems.

Any suggestions?

Denon D2000's are very comfy, somewhat loose in my opinion.

If you really search, you can get them in Canada for $250CAD plus shipping from Ontario...

I got sick of waiting for stock and grabbed them from the US for $360CAD total.

DT770s are supremely comfortable, have vastly better isolation than many nominally "closed" cans such as d5000, sound fantastic, and will only set you back $150 instead of $250.

I love the comfort of the akg suspension system, but apparently, if your head it to large, it won't fit.

The akg k271/272 should be in your price range.

I think Denons must be considered as semi-open or fully open when it comes to isolation, because they leak in and out almost as much as any open cans.

OK, thanks everyone for the suggestions. I am deciding between the DT770s, akg k272, D2000, and HD25.
What are the main differences between them in terms of sound reproduction? I am mainly looking for a headphone that sounds good to me, comfort is a secondary issue.

i hope everybody on the forum doesnt beat me up.. but i would seriously reccomend beats by dr dre as well.. They really are a good pair of phones and every comfortable.. dont let the idea that its endorsed by a big rap star and over advertised deter you away from this.. I calls em like i see's em.. and beats are good cans. (IMO of course) and its also got real tight bass like you said you wanted. you can probably get a used pair for the kind of money you want to spend.

Lol, it seems like DT770 fans are the some of the most unmodest people when it comes to their preferences.

If you wanna save some money, the Denon D1001's might be worth looking into

The 250 omhs require an amp, I presume you have one?

I do not have an amp, and am not quite willing to invest in one quite yet. Which of these cans would work fine with an iPod? I will mainly use them with my computer, but it would be nice to be able to take them around.

The HD25-1 is great out of an iPod. They're a good choice if comfort is of secondary importance.

I'm going to have to go ahead and agree with this statement wholeheartedly.
