Hi, looking for another closed back headphones (after selling my TH-900) for poor recording's in metal.

I consider LCD2C, LCD-XC Carbon, Denon D7200, E-MU Teak, Nightowl.

The 7200 is a decent option, and can be found used for far less than your budget. It has good resolving capabilities, but doesn't throw poor recordings in your face. Otherwise, as people have mentioned, the Atticus is a good choice. It's not overly resolving, and will do well with those poorly recorded rare metal albums. It can also be found used for under budget. I've also owned the NightOwl. It's a fairly dark headphone, and will also do the trick. Not as capable as the 7200 though.

Well Aeon have slooooow bas response, it hit hard but i start to get loose very fast. I like overall warm sound signature tho.

What about Focal Radiance and Celeeste?

What about second hand Eikon?
The Eikon is the only ZMF I have never owned, but listened to it the same CanJam when I listened to the Atticus, but generally speaking, the main difference is much less slam from the Eikon, but more sub bass vs. the Atticus. In the end, I picked the Atticus. It's probably brighter than the Atticus too, but im just making a semi educated guess there.

The Eikon is the closed back version of the Auteur, both using bio cellulose driver. I did own Auteur, and thought it was very good for metal, so unless you're addicted to + mid bass, the Eikon would work.

I just listen ZMF Atticus and sorry but they are not for me, too dark and warm. Aeon was way better to my ears. But i listen Clear mg, they was great!
