New Head-Fier
Hello all!
I've lurked here for a while (A lot in the ChiFi IEMs) So I'm going off to college soon, and while my headphones right now are fine for home, college is probably not a great place for open back headphones. I'll give a little rundown of what I've tried headphone wise.
Superlux 668B: I got these because Tek Syndicate recommended them ages ago. I certainly like their V/U shape soundcurve, and I think they sound quite good.
AKG K550: A friend of mine owns these. The headband bothered me, as it didn't have enough padding. It was enjoyable to listen to. I did wish it had a little more punch in the bass though. The pads were a little warm as well, but they sealed great.
Takstar Pro 82: Also belongs to my friend. I had read about them here before. I think they're a little overhyped. While they do sound great, it's not mindblowing as it seemed. (Or maybe I hyped myself up too much) They were quite comfortable and sealed pretty well, and the headband was pretty nice too. What turns me off from them is the non-removable pads.
I think that covers all of them.
As for what I would like from them, I would like them to have removable pads (That way I can get different or better pads to help them seal better) as well as a removable cable (In case there's a disagreement with a chair or something of the like) Closed back (Obviously).
I listen to EDM a lot of the time, though there's some rock and pop in there too. I can stretch 100 a little bit (Eg: Open Box Monoprice M560 is 120. So something like that)
