Hmm, you miss a lot of essential Mahler if you skip Die Lieder and particularly ,Das Lied von der Erde, which contains some of the most sublime music Mahler composed imho.

I agree on the Erde...sublime.

But for me, Lieder King = Schubert. :smile_phones:

It is good indeed. He also did a fine Alpine Symph with the RCO.

Surprisingly, Gergiev and LSO did a fine M7 a while back. Probably his best Mahler recording.

I enjoy all kinds of classical music but I especially love Mozart. You know they say you play Mozart to a baby they get smarter. Can't vouch for that but ones thing for sure they will have a very unique taste in music. Which is a plus all the way.
I play classical on the car radio because it's soothing and helps take my mind off of the careless pedestrians who run across the road on a green light and the people in the back riding 5 feet from my bumper.
Very relaxing and a great stress-reliever of a music genre. At least in my experience.
