I just picked up some AD700's. Being relatively new to the world of hi-fi... they're great!

But I listen to a lot of classic rock, and they lack a little bass (I'm not a bass head).

I was wondering what your recommendation would be for a little more bass. I also have a large head and like the fit of the AD700's. So here's what my wishlist is:

1. Fit for big heads/ultra comfortable
2. $150 or less street price
3. Same great response and soundstage
4. A little more bass

Thoughts?

Save up another $25 and get a pair of used Denon AH-D2000. The best headphones for Classic Rock in your price range, IMHE. And they are made for big noggins! : )

O.K. I'll take the bait! How about a pair of Grado SR-225? Better yet, get a pair of the SR-80 and save your money for a nice portable amp. : )

Well you don't HAVE to recommend Grados, I heard the Denons were good for rock too, and they're closed if the OP wants that.

I actually prefer the Denons for Classic Rock, anyway. They're more balanced than the Grados and more detailed--with the exception of the high frequency response on the 325i. : )
