Sony MDR-A44L

They've been mentioned here before, and whilst the A21L and to a certain extent the A22L are better than the A44Ls, the A44s work damned well with the older Discmen (and are still available, rather than their 10yr old brothers)... Some weird but very good synergy going on here

...Give them a go, you guys in the US can pick them up for next to no cash... and they could just alter the way you listen portably

You serious or are that still the side effects from the battery charging.
I have a box where everything that comes with the PCDPs I've bought ends up in. Very heavy with all those wallwarts. On a closer look, guess what? 3x MDR-A21... Never even bothered to plug them in. So you say they don't suck (which would have been my uneducated guess from the looks of them)? Maybe I should give them a try...

D-EJ915, here's a pic:

Edit:
Ok, so I gave these MDR-A21 a go. First impression: Far better than they look, they sound almost like a good... uhm... telephone. So thanks, but no thanks. Are these the same as the A21L you're talking about, or does the L mean they're something different?

heh, they look a lot better than the W014 that came with my S1, heh, they sound TERRIBLE, I mean, completely bloated bass...sounds terrible, completely midrange, no treble or bass...well, for free I guess they might be worth it, but...my MDR-24's sound far superior, and they came with my 915!!

Hey PeterR...

If you think the A21s suck so bad, and you have three pairs of the things... care to donate me a pair?

I broke the headband on my pair... superglued it together to no avail... They sound pretty kick-ass out of the D211 / D311

Duncan, just mail me your address. Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, these are what seems to have come as standard equipment with the D-35, D-303 and the like, with the integrated remote?
