I enjoy the Cinematic Orchestra too and listen to a lot of nu-jazz but didn't find any similar artists.
The "Assassination of Jesse James ..." soundtrack from Nick Cave & Warren Ellis has similar mood and feel, although it's more country/classical. You might like it.
Thanks Vali, i'll check that out.
I quite like a bit of Nick Cave, mainly the unplugged session but i also like Dig Lazarus Dig.
My favorite Cinematic Orchestra album is - live at the royal albert hall, followed probably by motion.
I,ve come across other posts regarding this group containing plenty of suggestions for similar artists but none i tried came close in my opinion for instance Flanger was mentioned, also Jazzanova, Nuspirit Helsinki, Quantic etc, of all the mentions i tried - Funki Porcini where the only group to even come close, but there more electronic so im still stumped.
If you find any more, let me know eh
Check out The Heritage Orchestra.
You could also check out A Silver Mt. Zion and if you like something a bit more eerie and strange try World's End Girlfriend.
