People will have different opinions here, there is no point to argue about it. It's not all in the stats, or is it? Many owners of Anni will tell you they are extremely power hungry, and similar to Storm scale with high power headroom, which makes them sing.. many will say not, whatever one prefers. Same as somebody can hear a difference in the cable, while many claim there can't be any.. yet there are cables worth thousands of dollars. My monarch\kiwis are very loud on yellow color, while I can push Anni's to blue+. When you read reviews about amps and adding amps to Mojo2, you will read a lot of them which say and claim the amps increase soundstage, add bigger punch, make mids\top more airy and so on.. is everyone making things up? Also who is talking about wanting 100% transparent sound, if you ask me I want interesting lively sound that is joy to listen, and yeah add amp to alter some things and not get sterile dac sound. But again, I am not saying anybody else should follow this - it's merely my opinion\taste. Mojo2 is a fine unit but I know several people who added Kobo 475 for example to the Mojo and preferred that a lot more. Those IEMs are 94db sensitivity and 22 ohm impedance. Mojo2 can drive them to 120 dB easily. You are implying that by adding more electronics, the sound can get better (more dynamic). However, all you can really be doing in this case is adding distortion. Since adding an amp does not bypass or change anything in the Mojo at all, there is no other conclusion. It may sound preferable, but it is further altering the original signal and also totally unnecessary to achieve the most transparent playback at listenable volumes. Just something to consider for folks looking to add multi-$k amps and such.
