The M-chipset is based on A-chipset that is used in iPhones. The only thing I was able to find on the firmware update here was this video (more than a dozen pages back)

…and actually based on that the firmware update neither is meant to fix the white noise issue, nor does it fix it. There IS a firmware update that relates to Mojo 2's connection with M1-based Apple devices, but as most of the people have had issues with their phones, that doesn't apply at all since there are no iPhones with that chipset. And not even a replacement unit fixed the issue for the creator of the video.
So looks like we're stuck with the white noise![]()

Mine was updated and it resolved the issue.Wait, has there been an official statement from Chord on the white noise issue as being something they can fix with firmware update??
The most recent iPhone is A-16 Bionic. Apple computers have M based chipsets (M1 / M2) While they’re both based on arm, they have very different architectures. The update Chord applies only addresses an M1/M2 incompatibility. The M-chipset is based on A-chipset that is used in iPhones.
The good news is I think I may have found a straight usbc to lightning cable that takes care of the white noise issue. I’m still testing so I’ll update my video and you guys once I’m 100% certain.

It's not just Apple though, I had white noise on a Surface Studio laptop.
In my experience and the general consensus surrounding this is the Mojo2 can be picky about the type of cable used. You might want to try a different cable. I use Thunderbolt 3 or 4 rated cables with my iPad Pro and don’t have any issues. It's not just Apple though, I had white noise on a Surface Studio laptop.

The fix is only for a problem with M1 Mac books it is not a fix for white noise in general.wow, just thinking about the €€€s wasted on trying to chase a cable that wouldn't introduce the white noise, and it was a firmware issue all alongbut yeah, will need to look into this – thanks!

Yes, exactly as I stated on the message immediately following the one you quoted

It's amazing how this little thing still able to drive my Hifiman HE-500. From what i can tell it drives the HE500 with good authority.
Sound is amazing smooth delicate. Detailed but not too bright.

So I had to send in my Chord Hugo 2 and Chord 2go to get checked out (most likely a 2go failure, but I sent in both items just to be extra safe). I could have kept my Hugo 2 and just went USB but sending it with the 2go would give me some dedicated time with the Mojo 2 and Poly. After using the combo for the last few days, I'm convinced the 2go was defective, as the Poly streams DSD from Roon with zero issues. With the 2go, I ended up using the ethernet port.
I set up the Mojo 2 + Poly, tested my Clear Mg's, modded ZMF Aelous and HD800s, and didn't miss the extra power from the Hugo 2. The Hugo 2 RCA output goes to a Violectric v280 but then gave some ear time to my Campfire Andromeda Gold, Solaris 2020, and Dorado 2020 powered by the Mojo 2. Considering the open-back's I tested and the IEMs, I'm still shocked at how great the Mojo 2 is. I did some EQ and Xfeed testing but ended up leaving them all at 0, but I set the Xfeed to red (the first one).
Maybe I'm crazy, but to my ears, the Mojo 2 has this extra magic; it does a little deeper, a little higher, a little airier, and reaches a little further to my ears. Maybe the Hugo 2 is technically better, but I'm just baffled at the sound signature and power from the Mojo. I don't listen to my music at high dBs, so I don't really take full advantage of the V280 after selling a few power-hungry headphones. Now, I feel I'm beyond the honeymoon stage, and I'm still 100% satisfied with running the Mojo 2 + Poly combo.
One magical pairing is the Aeon Noire model with the Mojo 2, and it just seems to bring out the best of the Noire. Call me crazy but has anyone else had this same experience between the Chord Hugo 2 and Mojo 2 with both their streamers? Less desk space is also great, but I have missed the volume remote, where my Hugu 2 and now Mojo 2 sit on my desk, which is out of reach for quick volume control. That's the only drawback I could find in both setups. Oh, a few features took some extra configuration for the Poly, which is a bummer, but only a 1-2 min update to get the same support.
Now I'm inquisitive if Chord decides to release a Hugo 3, and how good would that be with all the tech they added to the Mojo 2?

Dan Clark has mentioned he personally uses a mojo 2 to drive his noire/stealth’s etc and is very happy with it.

That's pretty awesome, and now it makes sense that it is the best pairing headphone or IEM that I personally own. Even my Mojo 1 was pretty awesome with the Aeon v1's that I have.Dan Clark has mentioned he personally uses a mojo 2 to drive his noire/stealth’s etc and is very happy with it.

I sold the Hugo 2/2go once I spent quality time with the Mojo 2. I don’t miss the Hugo 2. It’s technically better, yes. However, the mojo 2 is pretty close. So I had to send in my Chord Hugo 2 and Chord 2go to get checked out (most likely a 2go failure, but I sent in both items just to be extra safe). This is the same thing I did. I let my Hugo 2 go once I got the Mojo 2. The Mojo 2 with its EQ capabilities is hands down my favorite portable device.I sold the Hugo 2/2go once I spent quality time with the Mojo 2. I don’t miss the Hugo 2. It’s technically better, yes. However, the mojo 2 is pretty close.
I do not compare A/B Mojo2 and Hugo2 but I do not miss the Hugo2 anymore when listening Mojo2, and it is the first time I love using the EQ feature on a source device, the intelligent desktop mode is also a big plus to me, totally love Mojo2
