Or get a used OG Mojo in great condition, probably for 25% of the cost of the Mojo2.
True.

But my intention was the Desktop-Mode (trickle-charge) and the DSP feature for stationary usage. :)

Try adding a clip on ferrite choke to your USB cable.
That worked for my mojo og.

Else you could have a noisy laptop. My hugo2 is unlistenable via USB, with a particular laptop.

Thanks all for the suggestions just picked another one up that has been unmolested. Honestly it’s not the usb or laptop. Aux to headphone and some volume I can hear the noise already it’s the unit. I received it noisy and although the power supply reduced this intermittent crackle and fuzziness I have reason to believe something shorted when working on it I’ll try and get it back to stock form and relay but no such luck.

Hope you can get things sorted. :metal:

It's a lovely little DAC/amp for enjoying music.

Therefore i've gifted my OG Mojo to my little brother when I bought the Mojo 2. :)
So I can have a listen while I'm on a visit at my family. :hugging:

Very happy to report I’ve solved the issue. I believe it was a soldering issue of one of the caps not properly touching the board or had an air bubble in one of solders. My friend that did the job has been quite busy and I have had some to study this and after trying to recap it with the stock caps and failing decided to try the new caps again and with some patience it worked and without a doubt sounds more open to me. The rumors are true. I fkd up and burnt a bit of plastic on the charger connection but no harm. Moral of the story is. Don’t quit.
The 7.5v power supply I got for $17 works like a charm, gets me to green light charge which I think is 80%. No noise now. The other mojo went back to stock form and sounds great as well. I am guessing the boxes changed with in a years time as i have two versions one from 2017 and 2016z

Disregard the flux and the plastic I burnt plz 😅😂

Need some new help however. So when I connect iPhone to usb connection mojo auto detects sample rate. On my computer I have to manually adjust with the midi app on my MacBook. Is there way to have it auto detect sample rate from tidal like it does from my phone? Right now I just have it on 172000hz 24 32 bit I think which I imagine is further than the ear can even hear…
But would like to have it where mojo auto adjusts…

Also I have tried it via optical to Apple AirPort Express and I cannot get a sample rate past 44hz?? Anyone have any intel on what
To do to up the sample rate via optical?

The Mojo will indicate whatever sample rate it is being sent, the issue is with the MacBook not the Mojo.

Tidal on Mac should swap itself, not so Apple Music.

With AirPort Express were you using AirPlay ? AirPlay is limited in respect of maximum sample rate.

Thanks for that I use the a1392 can’t get the mojo passed red sample rate. As for MacBook I have it at 172 which is bluish color and it stays there permanently no matter the song being played. With my phone color changes according to what is being played. Very odd I don’t think the airport goes passed the red sample rate unfortunately

Yeah I couldn't use the usb dac on the Arrow on my blackberry so i fear it's just the blackberry not doing usb audio at all. oh well.
Many people don’t realize that Blackberry devices like the Classic and Passport support external DACs, making them perfect for audiophile setups. I’ve explored this in depth using the iFi Hip DAC 1 and FiiO E18. You can see the full review and sound test in my video here. Let me know if you have questions!

I recently picked up a Mojo and wanted to know if there were any solutions to some popping issues I've been having.

  1. When I power the device on, if my IEM's/headphones are plugged in it creates a loud pop (Edit: It doesn't seem to happen if it's running on battery.)
  2. If I have something like Foobar2000 set to "exclusive" mode, with or without the latest Chord driver, I'll get a loud pop when changing tracks. The tracks are all the same sample rate at 44.1 and the OS is set to that as well.

What the food!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my god, I thought they weren't able to support any external DACs. I even tried connecting my Classic to Mojo, nothing happened. This is interesting. I might give it another chance to revive my Classic. It's been in the cloest for years now.

Right? It's pretty amazing what these devices can do with the right setup! 🎧 BlackBerry devices like the Classic and Passport do support external DACs, but it sometimes takes a bit of tweaking to get them working and the right apps (I made a video on my channel). If you're looking to revive your Classic or Passport and get the most out of them with DACs , check out my channel entrylevela1 where I explore setups just like this! I like to try weird cables and connections with old devices etc. 🙌
