my antipode is coming, question does TT need 5v usb input or no. I can find out by trying different usb inputs, but if there is a quick answer, thx

I've not personally verified this, but my understanding this that the TT does need to see that 5v due to the way that galvanic isolation was implemented.

It's this sort of assumption that renders comparison threads meaningless.

So is posting cherry picked, edited replies. I never made any comment on sound signature and was simply being up front with my comment while clarifying what the conversation was about. Not once did I say one was better than the other when it comes to sound. Absolutely no assumption on my part.

Guys im from Russia, my english is a bit better than your russian))
Question about preamp section in tt, how it plays with active monitors. In system pc/hugott/genelec8050? Anybody use tt as a preamp for active acoustic, any degradation of sound?

Can't emphasize enough the single biggest transformation of what comes out of my TT is what is going into my TT. I had no idea the source matters so much. I also have a new appreciation for what TT does and my system. Back to end game and chillin.

I used the TT with active monitors (PSI Audio) during more than one year. For me there is absolutely no degradation with the digital volume. The TT has better SQ than any monitor controller.

Now I use the TT with an amplifier and still continue to use digital volume and digital inputs.

So after a couple of weeks waiting, I finally got my hands on a Hugo TT at a bargain price (around 2,300$~), haven't had the time to test it out fully but I'm liking what I hear a lot. :L3000:

Having had a TT myself I am sure you will be very happy with it. Are those ferrite cores I see on the data input cable? And if so, how did you decide what size and how many to use?

Also, I see you are using an external amplifier and it is my experience that the sound quality is often best if the TT is in DAC mode ie Line Level Output mode.

Have fun.

I'm actually using a ifi audio mercury cable that's already setup with 3 ferrite cores, so I can't say for sure if that number of ferrite cores are the optimal amount for that length of cable.
