Exactlyyou mean dx180 has a coax out (3.5 SE port) ?

No. The coax output is on a spare connection in the usb socket and will only work with that Hiby adapter. It's not USB.i have that IC, yet i doubt if going from usb to coax is the best solution. they are two different things afaik (which isn’t much btw)
can i assume then this will apply to m300 as well which only has a 3.5 out ?Exactly
No, that's a rare feature offering digital out other than USB and therefore only in selected models like all new Ibassos.can i assume then this will apply to m300 as well which only has a 3.5 out ?
in other words is every 3.5 out at the same time a coax ?
lastly, any coax to coax cable recommendations ? (as an alternative to hiby usbc>coax)
Perhaps this small DDC is worth looking at:i struggle finding a source for my H2.
i hated 2go due to its connectivity bugs.
my use case is portability around the house, so i went on to stack it with a tiny DAP (hiby m300) using an audiophile grade 90ohm usb cable.
hoewever, reading back on the RF noise that keeps popping up here and there, it makes me question how much of what i’m hearing is noise. and yes, it is kind of on the bright side which can cause me some fatigue.
looking into sources that have optical outs, and i see myself way too limited with some older sources, not to mention limitations of optical connection.
besides being prone to rf noise, i don’t like (as @Rob Watts said) that “better” usb cables modulate noise to give you a false sensation of more detail.
so as much as i like my H2, i really struggle to make it right. and that makes me look into daps instead…
That Hiby USB-C to 3.5mm coax cable (or maybe this standard) sounds terrible. I have the TempoTec V3D to test. TempoTec V3D's coax-via-USB sounds identical to Hiby R3II's coax-via-USB, but both sound vastly inferior to TempoTec V3D's coax-via-3.5mm. There is an unusual congestion/muddiness in the lower-mids that is very apparent.No. The coax output is on a spare connection in the usb socket and will only work with that Hiby adapter. It's not USB.
I use my H2 with a dx320 via coax and it works brilliantly. Best of all, you can use PEQ settings in neutron player and these are retained even though the H2 is providing the conversion. I usually then link to a tube amp and my hd800 and it sounds pretty end game, at least for me.i struggle finding a source for my H2.
