    About firmware 2.0 and Android.

Now, if i start a playlist from Qobuz with BubbleUPnP, it is possible in MALP, MPdroid and GoFigure to interact with it.

I just bought the Mojo/Poly after a few months of use when it first came out. I was encouraged by reports of the new firmware and the stability it introduced.
I am now using an Android phone, rather than iOS and was able to update the unit to the latest software.

    However, I get the painfully familiar cut outs when using Bubble UPNP for streaming music (Tidal) AND when using my Huawei P30 PRO as a portable hotspot (which was the most stable way of using Poly with an iOS device);
Playback starts and works OK for about 10 minutes until Poly becomes unresponsive.

Any ideas? I have an iPad Pro, and while I can use Poly with it instead, I bought this for portable use.
I really hope that there is a simple workaround but this is a disappointment so far....

EDIT: I spoke to Chord, who promised to look into this issue and get back to me with some feedback. I still cannot help but think that history is repeating itself. Luckily, I 14 days to assess the situation and return the gift pack if needed.

A quick follow-up to the above. I got better results at home on wifi. I was able to listen to music without interruptions- other than Poly being slow to react when wanting to listen to a different album at times. This was the exact same behaviour I was seeing months ago when I first bought the product. So SD card playback via Bubble was OK, Tidal was somewhat slow.

I set Poly up with my iPad and found that Glider is performing pretty poorly. I was expecting far better results than what I am seeing on Android and was surprised to not see it happen.
Any advice on how to make this work?

I still like the sound of it but the performance is nowhere where it should be, in my opinion. I suppose this is to do with the hardware limitations of Poly.

Hi @Matt Bartlett - any news on a quick fix for MPD futzing out when it switches network?

It's still being worked on but I hope to be testing something next week.

Hi Matt. Any update on the Roon issue that a few of us are experiencing?

    Thanks

    Hi,
Just remember that with Tidal you have to send information from Bubble to Tidal then Tidal has to respond back to Bubble and then Bubble can send that data to Poly so you have a lot of processes happening. Depending on the speed of your router, the internet connection, and then the speed of the Tidal severs this all has an impact on the time it takes for Tidal to respond.

Glider has been ok for us apart from the mpd function which needs to be updated but as the developer Joe no longer seems to be supporting the app then I'm not sure whether this will ever happen now. If you want to try another app then lots of customers find MConnect works very well. It is available for Android and iOS and there is a 'lite' version you can download for free to try before you buy.

I know you are working with our support team so we will continue to try to work out why you are getting such slow and sluggish performance. Out of interest what router are you using Poly with?

Roon have now set up a support forum so they can log all the details and try to work out what is happening.
    If you go to:-
    https://community.roonlabs.com/t/chord-poly-support/68008
and then log into the community site with your Roon account between us and Roon we will be able to work together to resolve the issue.

I know that a couple of customers that were experiencing issues backed up Roon then uninstalled it. They then reinstalled and restored from
the backup and then everything was ok again. It might be worth a try but only if you are comfortable restoring Roon from a back up.

Ok great! Thanks. I’ll check the forum out. Hopefully by providing some logs it’ll help identify the issue.

After having too many issues with Glider I have followed your advice and tried the MConnect Lite app which worked fine (although I still preferred the experience of Glider, MConnect feels like going back 10 years). Then I bought the full version which on the other hand didn't even recognize the Poly as a renderer or as a server. Had to restart both the Poly and the iPhone and now it works. Thanks!

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

MConnect is useless. After pausing the music, leaving the room with my phone, and coming back later MConnect again cannot find the renderer nor the server. Restarting the app and the Poly doesn't help, and now I don't want to hard restart the phone again.

    Hi Matt,
Out of interest, which Xperia's have you got working?
I got Poly updated to version 2 using a friends Samsung S9. Neither of the XZ1 Xperia's running Android 9 can find Poly in the app.

I’ve issued a refund request with Apple for Glider as my four months of having it falls far short of our local consumer law requirements. I’m hoping that it gets Joe’s attention and he fixes the app as I would much prefer this over getting a refund. In the meantime I’ve been using MPDPlayer (by Adrian Berisha
https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/mpdplayer/id1382797572?mt=8) which has auto discovery that works for me. This developer also responds to emails which is nice!

    Hi Matt,

Yes, I have been in touch with Mitch.
I have the Technicolor DWA0120, which could have been the culprit, but I am seeing worse performance when sharing my phone's internet connection.

I tried with both my Huawei P30 Pro and my iPad Pro and get similar results. Glider was near perfect last time I used it a few months ago but Joe seems to have abandoned the project indeed.

    Thanks,
    Nick

Matt, for the sake of continuity, any thoughts of an official Chord app to operate the SD card?
