I accept that frustrations arise, but there is no need for rudeness. A simple fact which most people tend to adher to.

I agree, we're very lucky that Chord has allowed us to buy their product. I can't understand why anyone would think that a pin isn't the perfect user interface. I think an App would be overkill.

Yes, and we should all change our network gear because it's obvious that it's not Poly that isn't working correctly. And while we're at it, let's all buy new USB chargers, because obviously it's not the Poly's fault that it can't be powered on.

Indeed, we're all whiners who should stop complaining, why on earth are we expecting Chord to deliver updates when they say they will? I feel so privileged that they occasionally turn up the forum to explain why we are at fault.

I'm proud that chord have allowed me to spend £500 on a product with less functionality then a Raspberry PI!

Would you care to try the latest beta? It fixes many connection and device discoverability problems.

If you're already using the beta, then please contact me so we can get your issues resolved.

Good to hear that many connections and device discoverability problems will be fixed.

I will wait for the next official version instead of the beta version.

Keep up the good work. It is a nice app.

Thanks!

In the meantime, if you switch network modes or join a different WiFi network after you've been using Glider, then the quickest way to fix any problems will be to delete and re-install the app. It's not a great solution, but it's the only way to solve some of the issues before 1.6.2 is released.

The only problem I have with my Poly is that of needing a pin to poke it in order to change its status, hence my own eagerness for the app. Poking it with a pin - and I never have it with me when I need it - is archaic, but it serves no benefit to anyone for me to keep posting about it repeatedly.

Hi everyone, I don't know if this was already discussed, wasn't able to read through all the pages:). Is there any possibility to transfer audio files(single tracks or even full albums) from your phone(android) directly to poly's sd card? I've tried using some dlna/upnp apps or es explorer but to no avail.. Is it doable? Am I missing something? I have some tracks I'd prefer listening from the card instead of streaming it from the phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Easiest way is to plug the SD card into your laptop and then transfer the music you want from there.

Thanks for your help:) I know, but that's what I'm trying to avoid.. the thing is, I often download some tracks or full albums with my phone OTG and would like to transfer it on the spot to the card if possible without the use of a laptop. That would be the easiest way for me! :)

AFAIK you can't transfer directly at the moment. There is no USB connection on Poly nor has the software necessary to do what you want to do been implemented. A quick review of Chord's advertising does not reveal this to be a product feature. On the other hand, Poly can write on the mSD card so perhaps someday it will be added as a feature. Who knows, maybe GoFigure will allow wireless transfers directly to the card. I sure hope so because I too often have a few things racks or an album I'd like to add to the card.

Tried @JeremyLaurenson method of connecting using hotspot mode, poly didn’t want to play

Went back into WiFi settings and deleted them and put them in again low and behold poly connected to my network

Thanks to @joe28 using glider beta no issues at the moment

Such a frustrating bit of kit BUT every time I get it working I keep hearing things on recordings I hadn’t heard before

My new router is from Time Warner: MediaAccess Gateway TC871`5D. It runs on 2.4 and 5. I apologize for delay.

Glider: we're loving it.

OT: Mojo alone.

Interestingly enough, I went with the iOS update, as I thought it was now safe. My nice connection cord from Latvia no longer works with Mojo. A second one was the same: initially playing but then "this device is not supported" with cut out. I discovered this at an ice hockey arena.

I'm glad Mojo/poly has 2 ports to share.

Now I have to consider my choices:

buying 2nd poly OR waiting for the price of Hugo2 "to go" module announced, OR, listen to my wife's music, which is not always to my taste, OR
listening to Finishing School Drop Out Hockey Moms yelling things that would make a truck driver blush, while they are being escorted out of the arena.

Decisions, decisions....

I have read quite a lot of the Poly thread. I started reading when it started, and stopped for a while. The Poly was released and the post count rocketed, but I have still read quite a lot.

I am not interested in the Poly as a Bluetooth player, ROON, or wi-fi. I would use a Poly only as card reader for the Mojo, as a DAP. Or a music source on an amplifier.

I know that we need software to run the Poly from a smartphone. I don't have a smartphone yet. I do recall two names of apps being mentioned as apps that will run the Poly from a smartphone. I can't remember them, but I can search.

However are Chord not writing an app of their own to run the Poly from a smartphone? Should I wait for that, or do I need to buy an app since I can't recall if any app was free?

Lastly is the Poly working flawlessly with the smartphone as a controller?

Thanks folks if you can help me.

I found a few phone apps that are supposed to pair with the Poly, on the What Hi-Fi review of the Poly. https://www.whathifi.com/chord/poly/review

I still would be keen to hear from folk to say if Android phones that are used to operate the Poly pairs well. Just to control files on the SD card, and not for any other function. Please can anyone say if that is nice and stable.

@Matt Bartlett mentioned that at some point the Poly would implement a samba share = a PC Shared drive
