MPD plays other files, I had to look up what DSD files were so had sort of given up on MPD until some comments in this thread make me dig a little deeper. I don't have any DSD files but once I setup mpdeluxe in my iPhone it was playing OK and mine are either FLAC or ALAC.

However, I'm not 100% happy with any of the apps so far, the most stable one has been 8player (for me) so I wait for the Chord app which should do exactly what I want for my setup on the go - phone for selection and control via bluetooth and bit-perfect from the Poly sdcard to Mojo and into my ears via either Oppo PM-3 arriving Monday or Mee Pinnancle P1 iems.

Opinions, facts, information based on nothing as you don’t own a Poly.

It is like armchair experts basically.

If I have an opinion about something, I have atleast spend a good amount of time with it. Else I will stay out of a discussion.

Chord keeps telling us that "firmware updates are coming" and that it will just happen as long as we are on the internet. Can you guys answer what to expect and when? Since we are having so many issues, I don't want to do a premature restart that can brick the unit by confusing an update with one of the issues we are all experiencing? Also can you guys give us an exact date as to the first update?

Sorry just had too bring up your posts on TT without hearing it as a lateral on ch1....I’m just having fun, folks get emotionally evolved and draw opinions from nothing all the time here. While milketese finds the negativity on chord discouraging I’m sure it’s warranted. They got poly this, to go that, Davina this, blu2 that, they are pretty aggressive in trying to create a complete ecosystem, when one can look to specialists in most categories from others if one wishes. Early adopters are just this, early...

    Chord TT?

I actually did hear it but I have no interest in it as I got an other DAC at home that I like better.

Ah wait. I think I remember our old discussion. It was about why I don’t want to upgrade to the Hugo TT from the Hugo 1 as it has the same internals with a few additional tweaks?

Well, my eyes were already set on the Chord Dave after comparing it against 20k+ DAC’s in speaker systems. I had no interest in upgrading to the Hugo TT which has almost the same internals as my Hugo 1.

Sorry but you left yourself wide open, lol. No offence, but you had not heard TT and you are still wrong about it and it’s internals. Just saying
  7. ubs28
How did I left myself wide open? Still after all this time it is too difficult for you to understand that some people don’t want to pay $4000+ for the same internals as the Hugo 1 with the exception of super capicators and USB galvanic isolation?

You can ask Rob how similar the TT and Hugo 1 are in hardware. Even the amplifier of Hugo TT is as powerfull as the Hugo 1.

Anyway, keep derailing this thread more rather than talking about the Poly (which i assume you have?)

shaking head, i kinda knew from history you would get it all wrong. The point was, and in good fun, you made incorrect assumptions about TT without hearing it, and you are still perpetuating this, while commenting on another poster for not having poly. just a fun note of hypocrisy and yes lets leave it at that, it is well documented all the analogue and digital enhancements applied to TT for those that want to research or test it out...
    Hope poly gets worked out.

To preface this, I own a Poly.

One of the reasons I joined Head-Fi was to learn about products I was considering. If you go back to the beginning of this thread (if you dare) no one owned the poly and there were many opinions expressed which, in some way, led to changes and additions to the design of the poly. This thread has been extremely valuable to the designers of poly and also to those considering the purchase of a Poly. So to say those who don't own one shouldn't be posting is a bit crazy. However, having said that, unless you own a poly it's very difficult to understand the frustration that some people are going through in getting their Poly to do what they were hoping it would do when they bought it. So I think it's unfair for those who don't own one to tell people to chill when their expensive streamer isn't performing as expected. Even though some comments are made in anger and frustration this information is still useful to Chord and to those who are considering a purchase.

For me I love the potential of my Poly, it's flawless with Roon at home and is a joy to use. However when I go to take it out on a walk everything kind of falls apart. I was frustrated yesterday when I tried to simply play songs from the SD card using the phones hotspot to control it. No joy! And to play offline Tidal files from my Android device without using bluetooth is impossible. Some issues I'm sure are user related and some are related to the unfinished status of our Polys. Am I hopeful these will be resolved? For sure as Chord has been very present on this thread and has shown a genuine intent to fix the growing pains and get the Poly working as it should.

I still think the Poly is an innovative product that will live up to it's potential. Was it released too soon? Possibly. However I believe the user feedback and comments will ultimately help create a product that we all enjoy and that meets the needs of those of us who are early adopters of the product.

So I ask those who don't own one, please use this thread to learn, ask questions and to decide on whether this is something you want to own or not. But please don't diminish the frustration some of us have been going through in getting their units to work as it's the expression of that frustration that is part of the user experience that will lead to a better product in the end.

Incorrect assumptions? It is hardware specs? How do you need to listen for hardware specs?

Rob has verified many of these “assumptions”.

Dog with a bone eh, Im not listing all the hardware and analogue upgrades here, this is well established on hugo and TT threads, concerning its listening experience i suggest comparing these models before coming to technical conclusions that mislead is all.. The amplification differential is a non sequitur between these models while preference will establish what one likes better.
    Lets drop this please.

Nope...it was all good yesterday and this morning before I plugged it in. Only Mojo turned on (M-light), while Poly was dormant. Switching on Mojo did not awake Poly no matter what I tried.
Thankfully, @beemarman advised me to plug Poly in on its own, which did the trick.

Haha, what is your aim actually? To proof that the Hugo TT is totally different hardware despite sharing the exact same DAC inside?

Haha, keep fooling yourself justifying your purchase thinking it is a totally new DAC.

Now please stop replying as this is the Poly thread. I am not replying anymore anyway.
  14. Whazzzup
My aim was to call you out in thread democracy, you can have your opinions even if you have not heard said device and claim wrong conclusions. This should have been let go from the beginning
