Im looking for earbuds under 30$. Ive been looking around on headfi and ive found that the cx300s are good but their a little pricy for me. Any reccommendations for earbuds under 30$?
Also, are these cx300s fake?

theres alot of cx300s in this price range on ebay from hon kong and i saw some info that might seem to prove their fake.

basically, the rule of thumb for buying these on ebay is to look for a seller outside of Asia, also gives you peace of mind too. Perferably, a seller in North America

Edit: according to his feedback, some people are saying it's fake...also there's one BIG problem, listed as OEM. Chances of an OEM being fake is really high.

Wow, please dont get the mx400's. They may actually sound "ok" but they are horribly uncomfortable. Also they are EarBuds not true iem's. The CX300's are leaps better. They sound better and fit waay better. Keep in mind Amazon.com has the Altec iM616's for like $59 right now. Those are also a nice set of in ears. I no your limiting yourself to a certain $ figure but if you get something that you find sounding horrible you will end up spending more anyways. Spend the few extra bills and get the cx300's or something other then the sen mx earbuds.

Originally, I wanted to try all the CX300 style phones so I ordered Senns and Sharps from China. They arrived in a week and the Senn's were in an offical plastic Sennheisser bubble wrap and the Sharps were just in a pouch. Both sounded alike and neither sounded as good as the generic CX300s I picked up at Amazon. Now I have three and the best are the generics but they weren't the best until I burned them in. I like buying cheap phones from China because I never know what I'll snag. When I bought the Senn's I also picked up Sony MDR-E888s. Again these came in an official Sony bubble wrap and they're the best of the bunch. None of this cost very much but if I did it again I'd buy the EP630s or the Amazon generics and be done with it. I like CX300 style phones but I don't think they're in the same league as the 616s so I wouldn't fret too much over getting the pick of the litter.

I bought these, and they are fakes.

The treble is nonexistent, it sounds very honky like someone is putting a cup with speakers within them on your ears, the bass is not even half as powerful as it should be, and the most prominent issue is the build quality. These things aren't even smoothly rounded. The edges are jagged, the lettering is crooked, and you can see glue stains around the seams.

I would really advise you not to buy those. Chances are it's the same fake as I bought. You get what you pay for. Luckily the seller was nice enough to give me a refund.

I used the refund to get a genuine pair of CK7s from here:

Word goes that they sound similar (if not superior) to the Etymonic ER6i, and they look incredibly nice to boot.

Definitely fake. The price is too good to be true. Also, they're shipped OEM from China. Does that not give the game away already?

I paid $22 including one week shipping for fake cx300s from China. They came in a box just like this:
http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/showt...ighlight=cx300.
If these are fakes why would anyone go to the trouble of exactly duplicating the box or could these be practice boxes from apprentice Chinese counterfeiters? I don't care whether they're fake or not because all I wanted to do was find out what it was like to order fake phones from China. My experience was a pleasant one and I'd do it again.

The important thing is, do they sound good? If they do, then you should be patting yourself on the back!

Not everything is fake if it's from China.

I think the ones that come in retail boxes are real. The one that comes in crappy plastic bags are fake.

I've been telling this story for awhile. lol.

Ok, so I have a friend ordered a pair of cx300 off ebay (I don't know who's the seller though). They came in the senn retail package, and they look authentic, BUT THEY SOUND NOTHING LIKE IT. the bass is bloated, highs and mids muffled, nothing like the real ones I heard at Bay-Bloor Radio here locally. So be extra careful...
