Hello everybody just wanted to greet myself in saying I am new to these awsome fourms. I have been reading here for at least 3 months before finally getting my new AH-D2000 Denon Cans and my Antique Sound Labs MG HEAD DT which i bought used since it was my first amp purchase when it comes to headphones. This system is running off my pc which only which I use for music (mostly 320kbps and flac files) and gaming. Now ive done all kinds of research and can't seem to pinpoint the answer im looking for, so I would ask of your kind help. Basically I love my Denon D2000 headphones for now but im thinking of either getting the 5000's or maybe even the 7000's but not now. I can get a sick deal on the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro's ($195 brand new) which I am considering but it seems that on these baord its a love or hate situation with those cans. I want a set of cans that will be better than my D2000 for Vocals and Classical and Opera stuff like that. Since the primary use for my D2000 is Trance/Dance/Rap, however I listen to alot of types of music. A while back one of my good friends lent me his HD650 which I connected with my ASL and I was blown away but I do not want to spend that much money right now. How would the DT 990's sound in comparison to my D2000 and are they what I am looking for or is this too much of a similar sound. Sorry for the long and tedious description but I did want to explain myself properly so we can understand each other.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and once again I feel great being a part of this Audiophile community

Denon D2000 are terrific for pop/dance/trance/rap songs. I don't see you needing another headphone. Maybe you should think about getting a new amp?

If you want better clarity on vocals and bass that goes toe to toe with your Denon's, you're better off saving money and get the DT990/600 ohm(premium) and pair them up with a well known tube amp like the hifiman ef5 or sth.

I dont need more bass but I wanted something that will sound even sharper overall for types of music like Classical and Vocal and Opera im not looking to get anything sounding better than my D2000 for Dance/Trance/Rap they already sound very good. You say get a better amp I guess my ASL is a medicore amp then at most. I might look into one of the amps that you have mentioned and see how the pricing goes.
