Sorry for asking in this thread, but after reading quite a few pages of positive impressions of OKCSC ZX1 I just ordered myself a pair. And I hope maybe one of owners can help me out.

I've no prior experience with headphones and my ThinkPad X200/OG Pixel XL/Sansa Clip+ had no problem powering various IEMs, but as far as I understand I'll probably need an DAC/amp for ZX1. What would be cheapest option for USB DAC? (I think I need USB one because my laptop soundcard is absolute garbage and I'm afraid to plug in amp into 3.5mm jack. It performs "decent" with Microlab 2.1 speaker system, but IEMs plugged into laptop sound terrible, too much static noise).
Is something like this https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/ck2RccLA be good enough to drive ZX1?

Moving away from onboard audio is going to be a great way to improve sound. Spec wise this DAC/Amp looks pretty good, although it doesn't specify what output mw this thing puts out and I can't find any independant reviews.

I can vouch for the HiFimeDIY, I can have one at work and it definitely has enough power the ZX1.

I can’t test it directly right now but just as an example I hooked up them up directly to my iPhone SE which is definitely less powerful than the HiFimeDIY, and at one click below max it’s loud from Spotify, although I think the ZX1 does benefit from better amplification.

I'll keep it short if you don't mind

- Both have a relaxed, bassy sound signature
- The CAL has a bit better clarity in mids and highs
- The MDH9000 has way better build quality. I really believe this is a office tank - one that will last for years

Are there any Chi-Fi headphones costing no more than $50 CAD which are suitable for voice recording such that voices are not as sibilant as they may be on other headphones?

Ok, while trying to find the Takstar on Taobao, I bumped up these instead : TrueAudio P2. Looks nice and seem pretty small for planar earcups. Absolutely no idea how they sound though?

Its listed as :

Sensitivity : 90dB/mW
Impedance: 34Ω

List price: RMB 999/-. (Approx Us$149/-).
