I rarely post on this site about specific albums but the New Crystal Slince is just simply amazing. A real culmination of Corea's and Burton's long relationship.
While the album reminisces through some of the standards that many fans will recognize, this is really fresh ground. The first disc has some recognizable licks but with an orchestral overlay. The second disc is a bit more laid back. On the second disc, Corea and Burton play tribute to Bill Evans with a startingly fresh, polished version of Waltz for Debby. The performances are excellent (which we expect from Corea), but this album is also a great sonic addition to your stack of regular headphone jazz listening. Really worth a try.
