I have narrowed the Hotel Option too two Hotels.
either hotel will have..some ideas..
I have been able to talk them into a discount Rate of $119.00 a night from the usual $159.00 a night. Considering the small number of slots open in the meeting room and the max amount of guests I could not drive them down any further. The meeting room will be ours from 8am to 12am (midnight!) on the 17th. I am also planning on renting two standard guest rooms both sides of the meeting room to give a bit more space and a more private Listening area where everyone will be asked to keep the talking down in those rooms.
(this is a carry on from my last meet with a private listening area that was setup in the ladies bathroom).
most likely one will be a made a lounge setup where members can sit and chat, while the other will be for quiet listening.
I have more ideas but these are just teasers for now..hehe
Food is not been determined yet cause both hotels have tight policies on outside food or drink being brought in. The cost of Food for each plate is about $20-30...which means its not cheap!
to keep costs down and not to let this meet turn into a complete nut house I am shooting for very limited attendance space, probably 20-25 people not counting any mot's. anyone who has replied to this thread has first dibs if later on the number of wants comes to a head. I will let you all know what happens if..
if the meet is a bust I will post a reply in this thread saying its a no go and updating the first post.
if the meet is a go I will post a NEW thread and pm a link to all who have replied in this thread.
expect some news on or by September 17th on whats finally going down..

I am putting up an I/C to see who is up for the 17th of November in Chicago..
Its a weird day for me every year so I rather spend it this year with my headfi peeps..
I am going to look at a few hotels in the area to see is I can gauge some experience in hotel booking a headfi meet..
anyone out of state would be interested then i can try to strike some deals with rooms also..
