I don't know if this affects anything...
We do have a small lap dog. She is hypo-allergenic, non-shedding, and extremely fuzzy. She is very well behaved and gentle (plays with small children all day). The dog is trained to stay in the family room/bedroom/garage and kitchen on the first floor of the house as well as having an invisible fence outside.
She would not be in the basement and anyone with a mild dog allergy should have absolutely no issue at all.
If you like dogs even a little bit, don't get sucked in by the cuteness or you will never get the time to listen to the headphones!
BTW: Even if she managed to get in the basement, she wouldn't break or hurt anything (doesn't bite cables or get too curious). Mostly she just wants to be held and fall asleep in your lap.

Very generous offer to host a meet. Sounds like a great location. Thanks. Now I need to have a discussion with the better half to be sure nothing is going on that day.

Sounds great Germania, I should be able to attend.
...If anything, the dog provides more incentive to show up. <3 lap dogs
