Chicago Area Meet - Saturday April 25 - Part of the Ear Gear Expo at AXPONA 2015
Mar 10, 2015 at 11:02 PM Post #108 of 204
I'm pretty sure I am going to attend all 3 days. I live in Chicago so it is easy for me to transport some gear. If anyone is interested, I can bring along some of my stuff. I don't plan on getting a table unless I bring the WA7 and a table is required to set them up. Let me know if anyone is interested in any of the following (some of my gear is for sale or trade):

Headphones
Grado PS1000
Grado RS1i - MIGHT be for sale - $475
Sennheiser HD800
Beyerdynamic DT770 (600 ohms)
Audio-Technica AD-700 (Original Purple/Gold model) --- HUGE soundstage, one of the best, if not the best headphones for gaming and movies under $500. For Sale - $65

Amps
Centrance Dacmini 10 ohm - For Sale - $400
Woo Audio Wa7 and Wa7tp Tube PSU (Stock Tubes) - I might be able to bring this. Not very easy to transport but if there are enough requests I will try.

I am interested in hearing some high-end amps and mid-level dacs.

Wow, that's a great price on the AD-700 and I've been looking for a gaming/movies phone.  I hope to hear it next month.

But Vikings colors?  Hmmm...

I wouldn't wear them in public :) I still use them for gaming out of my Nintendo DS when I am out home and for watching movies. They wipe the floor with my DT770 in terms of soundstage. I only grab for the DT770 if it is late at night. I recently compared them to my HD800 and the soundstage is just as big, if not bigger. The real difference is that the soundstage is more natural for gaming and movies when compared to the HD800. The AD700 handle treble soundstage position in a very special way. As for music, the HD800 puts out a more natural soundstage.

So no one wants to set an official meet up at the meet then? That's cool. Kind of what I thought. See you all there.

Seems having a meet at a show is going to be less social. That said, I'd love to grab a bite with you.

I think meeting up is a great idea. I'm down for whatever (drink, bite to eat, etc).

we will absolutely do this.  I was going to hit the 11:30 room interface seminar.  if you were so inclined, we could meet right after that for a bite?

This is open to anyone interested of course.
