I have an end of year degree show coming up and I am using the Samsugn Gear VR to showcase my Uni project. Hopefully lots of people who are there (including the industry people) will be trying it. I presume as it will be a noisy place, with people walking up and down to look at the other students work, noise cancelling headphones will be the best option for me to use to trap out any external sound.

I dont really want to splash out the cash on expensive headphones that I will probably only use for that week (although might be my default VR headphones when showing family and friends later on down he line). Although I do need to impress the industry people coming to see my work, and people in general as a good pair of headphones makes for a greater immersion experience for VR. So you guys will probably advise that I do spend a little more that my initial budget?

These are my requirements:

-Budget is preferebly £50 max. Although I should probably add another £30-40 if you guys think of good ones?
-Noise Cancelling
-Not bluetooth. (I know wire free hassle, but this is 5 days, being used for many hours, and the battery will run out also)
-Over ear. I have seen some on-ear noise cancelling headphones, but not sure how they block out external noise?
-Comfortable (the project is about 7 mins)

Thanks for the help! :)

ATH-ANC23 Quietpoint; MDR-ZX110NC. Those are both pretty solid options in your general price range.

Hey, thanks for the suggestions. Many noise cancelling headphones are wireless, why is this the case? Is it something I should probably purchase? I am worried about it disconnecting from the phone at the end of year show with lots of other people there, with phones.

Any others from other people is highly appreciated also! :)

You are correct. There is a trend toward ANC headphones being wireless, for whatever collection of reasons. It may be that market research suggests consumers interested in ANC are also interested in wireless more often than not these days. It also may be true that people interested in wireless may be less concerned about overall sound quality. and therefore, more likely to be interested in ANC. Not sure. If you want, we can find you a wired pair--it just may take a bit of searching to find just what you want..

Why would wireless noise cancelling headphones be useful to me over wired noise cancelling? I mean, running out of battery is one worry and also losing connectivity whilst I am at this end of year show thing is another.

I could buy a couple, and then the one I dont like, just send it back?

Some I found were
E.g: Topdon TP550 (but wireless)
Lindy NC40
Sony MDR-ZX110NA (but on ear)

I mean, I cant find many wired NCH. All are just wireless which sucks :/

Any apologies, I meant "Any others from other people is highly appreciated also! " from anyone else who visits this thread. But your help would also really help me
