Hi guys, are there any chance to DIY a usb splitter? I have purchased a Halide Bridge all-in-one USB-spdif converter, and I would like to make it better by separating the usb signal from the 5v, and use an external psu for the latter.

Of course - about $200-$300 better, depending on where you purchase the iFi USB Power ($229 - $389).
 
The DoodleBug is $80 all up, only $45 for the kit without the casework.
