I was looking for a pair of inexpensive headphones that come with large round velour pads stock, decent/good sound quality, under $50. Thanks in advance.

I just got the Hifiman original HE400SE from the Hifiman store on Aliexpress for $50 with shipping. The $9 Apple 3.5mm adapter can even power them. Can't beat them for that price.
The black Friday sale with coupons are until Dec 2nd.

Thanks man. I've been curious about planer headphones for awhile now, might pull the trigger on them.

Don't know much about them, but they sure look cool though.
They are interesting but the comfort is hit or miss as the pads and headband are quite large, but Im a guy who likes on-ear headphones so Im in the minority in terms of fit and tolerances. The largeness of 9600 is part of what makes the sound interesting as its relatively big and open sounding. link

Im sure you can find a lot of other alternatives you might prefer but Im just mentioning one I've tried that I can recommend.

The first brand that pops to mind is Superlux. Extremely cheap and affordable! Zeos (Z Reviews) raved about them back in the day, but I haven't heard their name being mentioned in recent times.

They are widely available too

You mentioned velour pads, and that's something Superlux has to offer. I don't know where you are based, but you can also try looking into Sennheiser's outlet offerings (from the official Sennheiser website!)
