This is a great DIY audio upgrade.

Purchased long VGA, keyboard and USB cables, and put my computer in a separate room (the entrance hall of 5m3 as it turned out, I live in a 1 room apartment). Instant, very audible results. There's now a sonic equivalent to a black canvas to my music, instead of a sticky surface of white noise and hard drive stutter.

Total cost: 40$
Time spent on the upgrade: about 10 minutes
Result: Best upgrade I've made in a long time, not perfect though as I'm not sure if I'm allowed to drill a hole for the cables, so there is still some slight white noise leakage from the computer fans.

I have always found my system sounds much better after a 6 pack of beer.
Cost = ~$5.00
