Hello.
I am looking to have a stereo pair of 1/4"-to-RCA IC's to connect my DI/O to my headphone amp. Basically, I am looking for a high quality, sub-$40-or-so cable.
The Markertek cables are these (in the 1.5 foot length, just about the perfect length):
http://www.markertek.com/MTStore/pro...BaseItem=SC3SR
and the Belden option would be this recipie:
1. Take foamed Teflon-covered cores from 1659A (is that the right name? The ones that are good for digital cables with the solid cores)
2. Make a twisted pair
3. Solder a Neutrik gold-plated 1/4" male on one end (using Wonder Solder)
4. Solder a Neutrik ProFi RCA on the other end
What do you guys think as far as sonics go? I've heard that the solid cores (which I believe is 20 gauge) make decent IC's.
The price for a one-foot pair of the Belden option is going to run me like $35 plus shipping and the Markerteks will run $25 plus shipping.
Any thoughts?
Best,
Matt
