Bought the JVC marshmallows tonight at CC for 7.99
They look OK and are comfortable to me.
But the sound is average... not bad, but nothing great to write home about either.
In comparison to the Cowon earbuds that came with the D2:
The soundstage is small.
The bass is better.
The highs are murky and dont extend very high or sustain well(on a vibrato etc).
The isolation is pretty good. Probably good for flights etc.
Worth the 7.99 - Definitely, but wont be my primary buds.
Guess PK2s/Pk3s are in the horizon....
The more into this, the more it becomes apparent that it's always better to get the better stuff once rather than be disappointed with several cheap acquisitions. Cheap expenses tend to pile up...

Get Marshmallow, kramer mod them, then add Shure E2 (easier) or UE (better sound, more complex mod) silicon tips. The result will be a strong contender for any buds of $100 range.
