i'm looking for an amp and an external usb sound card for the beyer dt 770 pro 250 ohm? this will always sit stationary on my desktop, so i'm not looking for portable solutions. also, the sound card needs to have dolby digital technology (i plan on using stereo for gaming and such)
 
i've looked at the asus xonar e3 all in one amp on amazon.
 
someone also suggested using the xonar in conjunction with a fiios 6 amp?
 
would this setup work with the 770?

also, are they any suggestions for external usb sound cards? my onboard audio is terrible. less than $40 is preferred, but i can go higher

Do you mean the Xonar U3 ? You would not gain much by amplifying it with the FiiO E6.
