Sorry I neglected to respond to your post in the other thread.

Yes, those will work, but you don't need all that tube clip wire stuff. You just need the socket with lug connections, and the chassis mount ring like so:
attachment.php

This one is available at PartsConnexion in Canada (they are a forum sponsor).

cheers tomb the russian ones are still the cheapest and are silver plated the only worry i have is quality isses, i was just goin to use with out the clips, do you know if parts connection ships the the uk?

Being in Canada, they do International all the time. I'm fairly sure that they just handle it in stride, since most of their business is International, I believe. You can certainly contact them if you want.

You are fine if you use those without those clips, but the gold ones at PCX are pretty nice. It's all I use on the MAX, the PCB ones, that is. Their gold PCB 7-pins are the only gold ones that I know of - all others are silver/tin. You can find gold 9-pins and other styles in a lot of places - but not the 7-pins used on Milletts. I'm sure that gold chassis-mount version sets the standard for quality, too.

ill send em an email and see how bad the postage is cause the sockets are a bargin, what sort of gauge of wire should i be looking at to backwire to the board
