I just got myself an SMSL X4, but I am having this issue where I'm hearing the center sound favor the left slightly, and vocals/higher frequencies sound more piercing on the left side while the right side sounds a little more muffled or quiet, turning the volume louder makes it slightly worse or no different; I can hear more sparkle/openness on the left side than the right. I've had this problem with my first FiiO K1, but the second one seemed more neutral, so I'm guessing the amp inside is defective. Some headphones alone have this issue too, but sometimes plugging them into different sources favor either the left or right channels and cause the music to sound off by some degree.

Does anyone know what causes this inside the circuitry, and do you return your audio equipment for the same reason?
