I have a couple of questions about the best way to change the gain on my Pimeta. Currently I have R3 = 1k, R4 = 10k, R5 = 3.32k, and R6 = 1.1M. Using Tangent's gain calculator this yeilds a gain of ~10.6.

Now I want to drop the gain to ~5 for my HD-580s. After palying around some more with the calculator it seems that I need to either change R3 to 2.2k or change R4 to 4.32k.

Of these two options which one is the best, or does it not mater which one I change? Do I need to worry about changing R5 or R6 when I change R3 or R4?

Thanks for your help,
vtny

It's better to change R4 rather than R3, because that keeps the R3/R5 path consistent.

Thanks Tangent

I was hoping you would say that since I have a number of extra 4.32k resistors.
