changing the battery on an ipod 4th gen 20g

i see batteries for the 4g's on ebay for mere dollars, are these things legit? if not, are they accessable? anyone on here that specializes in replacing ipod batteries? i've got a dying ipod that only lasts a little over an hour on a full charge and hope it's not too late to do anything.

I bought a 1200mAh eBay battery that came with the tools to open up my 4th gen iMod. Took me about a half hour since I was very careful and didn't want to muscle it too much. Everything worked out fine.

hi sorry to dig up this old thread, but are the batteries the same for the monochrome version and the color version? apple's website considers both as 4th generation models.
