Hello guys, so, this question has been into me for quite some time now. So, I've been looking on the internet and saw AKM's AK4493EQ for sale at Digi-Key (Link: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/akm-semiconductor-inc/AK4493EQ/974-1162-ND/8124021). It's available now, and the best part is, it's for sale just at <$10!.

If i buy the DAC, can i just... Replace the ES9023 DAC on my z1 into AK4493?? Would it be a good idea? Or will it just gonna destroy my z1 entirely? If it's a good idea, then how to change it? I'm not an IT guy. But i know someone who is. Is it just like soldering-kinda thing and then play, or i should mess with the z1 motherboard and everything as well?

Yeah, you could do it but you'll need a seperate test board that was made for akm dacs or same number pin a-likes. Even bluetooth is possible.
