x2 on the RC-10s. just got myself a pair. they sound amazing - and the bass on them is a lot more than i would have thought. so for me at least, i see no need for a sub with these speakers. it helps that they also look awesome.

I just noticed that Crutchfield is having a sale on the highly rated Infinity Primus P162 6.5" bookshelf speakers @ $84.99 each. These don't have the fanciest cabinets but everyone seems to love the way they sound.

Well... I got decent grades. They were better than what I thought. This is basically my way of making me feel less guilty for spending more money. I am now upgrading the budget to $500 which might be stretchable to $600 if I get some more money for Christmas. I am looking for something that I don't necessarily need a sub to sound good, and I am also looking for something to pair with a 35 watt amp.

At this price point, are bookshelves still better or can I get a good pair of towers for that? It all comes down to price to performance to me. Whichever is better SQ for the money is what I am going to go with.

Thanks!

For your price range increase the av123 brand has some ELT525T towers that are usually $799 for the pair, and are $399 for Xmas. I seriously want those but the $399 is a lot for me this Xmas season. But those RC-10 look great also for $100 less lol

if you really have the budget, or can do $699 now after Xmas. I know many that have the ELT525 set that has 2 towers, 2 monitors, and a center for $699 and they blow away some top price systems. They make great stuff.

I'm debating the elt525t or saving $100 and doing those rc-10 you told me abaout

if you hit specials you'll find em for the sale price instead the linked $799
