In order to attend, you have to be assosciated with the press or the industry in some fashion, is that correct? Is it difficult to obtain such status? I've always wondered about how one goes about being "invited" to such an event...
I did attend a CES once in Chicago, but that was when it was open to the public.

....lobster, yes... theoretically everyone needs to be part of the industry. but it's not like NAMM where you have to submit a tax form or something to verify. they won't check. they'll just take your word for it. and if you register online, it's even a free pass.
