Does onkyo player show the bitrate? Flacplayer does which is how I can confirm 24/96 and 24/192 being loaded onto the player but also being played back natively via usbB port and cck.

I have the free version of Onkyo.

If you have the cash would you mind trying flacplayer app with the AK10?

Hi. Unfortunately I don't have FLAC files. And I can't figure out how to get the 24/96 indicator on the Onkyo player.

I bought the AK10 purely for mobile use, the M8 stays at home. I chanced upon your post this morning and commented thereon. I had actually posted in the AK10 thread that I couldn't be sure the songs were playing at 24/92

Sorry

Fair enough. Thanks anyway.

I suspect that they would be playing at either 16/41 or 24/48 myself.

I dont know If Onkyo has a 24/96 indicator or not, I know flacplayer does.

To summarize for the general public.

Hifi-m8 plays at 24/48 with recent Apple products(touch5, iphone 4). I cant confirm on earlier products.
ipad is in a separate area.
This is via the suggest USB-A port.

using the usb-B port we can get hi-res 24/96, 24/192 files playing via CCK.

*Adding tracks is usually via itunes, clicking on the app section, clicking on flacplayer etc and adding via there.

It's nice to see the Onkyo app plays with DSD stuff too, even if its just converting it...

Thanks for sharing.

I'm also putting it out to the universe that's I'd love to see @FraGGleR tear open a CCK and rewire it to be an LOD instead.  Oh to live in Chicago with him...

I can get 24/96 on my iPhone 5S and AK10 with the Onkyo HF Player app, not that I can tell the difference. http://www.iriver.com/support/download_view.asp?dNum=1095

I tested it in store today with flacplayer app on touch5G and iphone4 -both on the recent OS.

I tried the sony pha2, fostex hpp1, clas solo-r with continental, X1, AK10. (I dont know which firmwares they are running, except the fostex was running an old firmware).

I used 24/96 flac, and they all  played back as 24/48.

I took several screenshots but they all looked fairly much the same. 24/96 downgraded to 24/48.

probably was 16/48.
