Got a friend who is thinking of dropping 5 bills on a dual band repeater but he doesn't know much about them so I thought I would ask here. There are two main questions: 1) do they work, and 2) any specific model recommendations? Any other info would be greatly appreciated!

i dont know about repeaters, but Verizon and Sprint sell boxes that DRAMATICALLY increase your signal. the one from Sprint is 100 dollars and then 5 dollars a month (but they usually give you the box for free and waive the fee if you complain about your signal) and i think Verizon's is 300 dollars with no monthly.

AT&T and TMobile may offer similar devices but im not that well versed in the GSM world.
