I know this is sortof off topic...
I use a headset at my job every day.. This is the one:
http://www.ahernstore.com/h51.html
Comfortable, sounds great, people can hear me.. unlike all the cheap cell phone headsets I've tried. I can't stand in-ear or over-the-ear headsets.
I want to buy this same headset for home use, but connect it to my cell phone.
My questions:
1) The headset by default comes with an RJ45 phone connector. Are there adapters that convert from rj45 to 2.5mm audio, or would I have to cut the adapter off and put a 2.5mm audio connector on it?
2) Would I have to supply power to the headset from an external source (like it normally needs), or do cell phones provide power through the 2.5mm jack?
This isn't gonna be very stylin, but that's not what I'm worried about. I just like to have my hands free while I'm at my desk and on the phone.
