first, kudos to larry for making such an excellent mod. they look and sound real nice.

IMO the woodies don't really sound like cd3k anymore. no more 1 note bass, strange plastic-like sound, splashy undetailed highs, weird sound decay and drowned out mid, its fast, full bodied and natural. details and imaging have improved by a lot. really amazing.

hopefully the sibilance and overpowering highs will fully disappear after serious burn in...few hours ago it was unlistenable when hooked to my benchmark. they are listenable now...but still a bit harsh.

The sibilance should go away if they are new cans/drivers. Burned in CD3K's IMO are quite non-sibilant. They will likely remain quite bright if you keep using them with the DAC1, though

Glad to hear you like 'em though, the maple ones you have especially look superb.
