CD-RW Media question

Does anyone know about or have used a brand or type of CD-RW that works well with vintage PCDPs as an audio CD?

I've discovered that using CD-R and CD-RW discs with old players is a gamble, you just need to try it.

I don't think brands matter, what matters more I think is if your PCDP can read CD-RW disks. I know not all of them can.

Some vintage cd-players won't even read all cd-r's. You'll have to try.

You will probably have better chance of working with smaller capacity cdrw (700mb and less)

CDRs seem to work in all my vintage PCDPs. I have yet to find a CDRW that works in any of them. Just wondering if anyone has had any success, but I doubt it. From what I am told, to be able to read a cdrw requires a stronger laser output that vintage players don't have.

I believe there was a time (or maybe it's still going on today) when there were PCDP that were marketed as being able to play CD-RWs. It would be listed as one of the features of the unit.

I think my sister had a Sony PCDP that played CD-RWs. It was displayed on the cover of the unit as being able to do so.

my experience is only relatively recent cd players can do cdrw. pretty much those built right before the market for pcdp collapsed.
